Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf

The ‘Hill of the Belching Beef’ is one of the most distinctive wines in St-Emilion. Tiny amounts of incredibly concentrated wine is made from a small parcel of old-vine Merlot that is picked almost suicidally late to maximise ripeness and extract. Despite this the resulting wine is deft on its feet, defined and elegant and one of the great wines of Bordeaux.
