Located near Néac, on a south-facing plateau, Château Vieux Chaigneau is situated on one of the best terroirs in Lalande de Pomerol, being one of the few properties in Lalande to enjoy the same gravelly soil as on the Pomerol plateau itself.
On a surface of 6 hectares composed of clay and sandy-limestone soil, 3 grape varieties can be found: Merlot (75%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).
An annual production of 40,000 bottles is given a traditional vinification, followed by 12 months of maturing in oak barrels and 6 in bottle. The wines are fruit driven, with elegance and finesse.
