Originally from Crete and with extensive experience of working as an oenologist both on his native island and, latterly, making wine on Santorini for Domaine Boutari, Haridimos Hatzidakis finally realised his ambition when he purchased a small parcel of land near the Santorini village of Pyrgos Kallistis in 1996, which he replanted with Aidani vines.

Over the following years, Hatzidakis gradually expanded his vineyard ownership, taking on parcels of Assyrtiko and Mavrotragano, and rebuilt a traditional Santorini cave house into a winery. His focus remains on Santorini's traditional indigenous varieties, planted on high quality sites, farmed organically.

Today Hatzidakis is one of the best-known names on Santorini, noted for the exceptional quality of his wines. He takes particularly low yields from his vines, creating wines with aromatic finesse, intense mineral character, lavish volume and a substantial capacity to age.
