Pandolfa is a stunning estate, located in the hills of the Valle dei Rabbi, near to the border with Tuscany in Italy's Emilia-Romagna region. Although the origin of the estate's name is somewhat lost to time, the most credible explanation is that Pandolfa is named after Sigismondo Pandolfo, a military leader of the 15th century and a famed art enthusiast, who was once painted by Piero della Francesca.

Pandolfa's modern history starts in the 1950s, when the estate was renovated and modernised by the great-grandfather of present owner Marco Cirese, who today farms 40 hectares of vines, principally located on limestone-rich soils, at between 150 - 400 metres altitude.

Like the labels on the wine bottles, the winemaking style of Pandolfa is a blend of the classical and the modern, with artisanally-farmed grapes, vinified with minimal intervention, to give a wonderfully pure, fruit-ripe range of wines.
