Le Salette vineyards are owned by the Scamperle family, one of the most historical wine-making families in Valpolicella, who founded the estate in 1890. The name comes from the ‘La Salette’ church which overlooks the village and is said to protect those below. It was built in 1860 by local farmers as an offering to the Madonna, after she freed their vineyards from the vine-pest.
The Scamperle family have long been producers of wines with class, which are well balanced and rich. They follow the local wine-making technique which is sensitive to nature, aiming to bring out the best originality and characteristics of the grapes. The central goal here is quality, and it’s one shared by the whole family. Expect Valpolicella and Amarone in a lush, full-bodied style.
