Spain's one true aristocratic estate, with a proud lineage and a history of wines that redefined greatness in Spanish wine. Founded in 1864 on limestone hills 730 metres above sea level. Planted with Bordeaux varietals imported from Chateau Lafite together with the local Tinto Fino, there are nearly 20 hectares in production. Three wines are produced here: Valbuena, an earlier released wine, Unico, the top wine, released after around six years with extroadinary ageing potential and Reserva Especial, an unusual blend of old Unico vintages and younger wines.
