Vieux-Château-Certan is the greatest name in Pomerol. At least it was before Pétrus rather overtook it. Nonetheless, it is worthy company for the great first growth, providing a fascinatingly different style of Pomerol – one that is drier and less full – closer, in fact, to a classed growth Médoc than what has become the Pomerol style. Its ability to age is not in doubt, and its class is self-evident.
