Long Meadow RanchCalifornia

While vineyards were found at Long Meadow Ranch as far back as the late 1800s, they fell into disuse during prohibition and it wasn't until purchase of the estate by the Hall family in 1989 that the overgrown and ramshackle property was renovated into its stunning modern form.

Vineyards and Winemaking

  • Vineyard location: Nestled within the breath-taking landscapes of Anderson Valley.
  • Farming practices: Organic.
  • Climate: The cool and foggy climate of Anderson Valley, influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, provides ideal conditions for growing Pinot Noir. The region experiences moderate temperatures, a long growing season, and ample sunlight, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly and develop balanced flavours.
  • Aging: Maturation takes place in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels.

Tasting Notes

  • Aromas: Enticing scents of earthy strawberry, black cherry, and cranberry, complemented by subtle oak spice, hints of violet, and fresh thyme.
  • Taste: Supple red berry fruits, supported by a balanced acidity. A lingering finish with notes of cranberry and savoury herbs.

Food Pairing Suggestions

  • Roasted duck breast with blackberry sauce
  • Mushroom risotto with Parmesan shavings
  • Grilled salmon fillet with lemon and dill butter sauce
