Sherry is a fortified wine made in Jerez, Spain that can trace its roots all the way back to the 13th Century. A Great British favourite for centuries, thanks to some ship plundering by Sir Francis Drake, it is made in a wide range of styles to suit a variety of tastes. From bone dry, fruity Fino’s, salty Manzanilla’s and richer Oloroso’s, to classic sweet Creams and sticky PX. Although these wines started to lose popularity in modern history, they’re currently enjoying a resurgence thanks to keen sommeliers who’ve recognised their amazing wine and food pairing potential.
