The summers in southern Baden are now so consistent that its now possible to successfully cultivate Syrah and Ziereisen make small amounts of this wonderfully crafted Northern Rhône style expression. Fresh and elegant while vibrant and aromatic all making for a very drinkable Syrah.

- Rich black plum and sour cherry flavours are complemented by a resinous, smoked bacon characteristic.
- A gentle weight of fruit flavours but 2 year maturation in oak provides generosity to the palate.
- Made in a Northern Rhône style - more elegant and complex rather than powerful.
- 10 year old vines - Syrah is a new addition to Baden.
- Great with slow cooked dishes - lamb shanks, ox cheeks or pork shoulder.

Holger Koch's wines are very much German with a French accent. This Weissburgunder is similar to the very best of Alsace Pinot Blanc. Grown on higher elevation, windy terraces atop the Kaiserstuhl hills, that produce pure, perfectly ripe grapes with balanced flavour and texture.
