Vineyards & Winemaking

Grown in the loess soils of Poysdorf's Freiberg and Ebenthal vineyards, this Grüner Veltliner benefits from the area's warmer climate. Harvested in September 2022 and bottled in January 2022, it's produced using certified organic farming methods, a testament to the producers' commitment to sustainable viticulture. The Ebner Ebenauer Winemaking philosophy centres on emphasising fruit and elegance. Following a brief skin contact period (5 hours), the wine is pressed and fermented using cultured yeasts. It then spends three months on fine lees, adding depth to its character before filtration. The wine then rests in stainless steel tanks until bottling.

The Wine

Dry, medium-bodied; apple flavours and peppery notes; fresh acidity, excellent balance.

Food Pairing Suggestions

  • Grilled Sea Bass with a Lemon Herb Dressing
  • Wild Mushroom Risotto
  • Quinoa and Grilled Courgette Salad

2022 VINTAGE: 17/20  JANCIS ROBINSON MW -  ‘Bürsting Gruner: vines planted in 1958 on gravelly soil. 12 hours on the skins in the press. 70% fermented in French oak. Rich and creamy on the palate without any loss of acidity. Deep-fruited without being fruity. Powerful and mouth-watering at the same time.’
