Red Wines

Completing the classic trinity of ‘Red’, ‘White’ and ‘Rosé’, Red Wine is made from grapes with a dark purple skin. To get the iconic red colour, the skins of the grape are left in contact with the juice to bring out colour and tannin. The result is a red wine often characterised by red or black fruit flavours, and capable of producing some of the finest wines on earth. Some popular red wine grapes include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah/Shiraz, Malbec and Grenache, but there are over a thousand more and they’re grown all over the world. Red wine is a very versatile category. It can cover everything from easy drinking, youthful reds to red wines that will age for decades to come.  There really is something for everyone.
