Carved from the larger Sonoma Coast AVA, the 27,500-acre Fort Ross-Seaview is famed for its high elevation, remote ruggedness, and proximity to the Pacific. Vineyards here sit atop coastal ridges, often rising above the sea of fog that engulfs much of the Sonoma Coast. While they're just a few miles from the chilly Pacific waters, their higher elevations mean they can receive more sunlight

It is pale, juicy, spicy and delicious, with effervescent tannins. Del Barba brings deep fruit to Abba's ethereal prettiness. Like my favourite Cru Beaujolais, it is crushable with a touch of seriousness." - John Lockwood
