A top Napa Cabernet from one of the most influential women in wine. Sourced from the historic Sunbasket Vineyard, planted by André Tchelistcheff in the 1950s, the wine has earned 95 pt scores from both Antonio Galloni and Wine Enthusiast. It's a direct reflection of Saint Helena's terroir, blending raspberry, rose, and cinnamon notes with underlying hints of black olive and cassis. Corison's sustainable farming practices and minimal intervention in the winery ensure authenticity in every bottle.

95 pts - antonio galloni

"The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Sunbasket Vineyard is such a gorgeous wine. It shows all of the exuberance of St.
Helsna in its open-knit, sensual personality. Silky tannins wrap around a core of crushed raspberry, rose petal, cinnamon and mocha. I am sure the 2019 will be even better in another few years time, but it is, quite frankly, impossible to resist even in its youth. The Sunbasket has always been a forward wine. In 2019, it has an extra kick of energy and vitality.

95 PTS - WINE ENTHUSIAST

"Gamy, meaty and even flirting with garrigue, this is an earthy, sublime and highly structured wine, additionally tangy and dusty in tobacco and dried herb. Notes of black olive, red currant and cassis combine around silky tannins and lovely oak. Enjoy best from 2029–2039." - Virginie Boon

SUNBASKET VINEYARD

Corison's long-standing relationship with Sunbasket is rooted in its vibrant fruit, which captures the essence of Napa's abundant sunshine. Originally planted by the renowned winemaker, André Tchelistcheff, in the 1950s, Sunbasket offers wines teeming with bright red and blue fruit tones and delicate aromatics. Since purchasing the plot in 2015, the focus has been on sustainable and organic farming, ensuring the vineyard continues to produce wines that truly reflect its unique terroir and the sun-soaked terrains of Saint Helena.

in the winery

Cathy's winemaking philosophy is deeply rooted in her respect for the vineyards. Recognising the inherent power of Cabernet Sauvignon, she aims to harness its strength while embracing elegance. This equilibrium is achieved through meticulous vineyard management, ensuring grapes reach optimal ripeness with a retained vibrancy. In the winery, her non-interventionist approach lets the grapes express themselves. Post-fermentation, the wines mature for 20 months in French oak barrels, allowing for a nuanced development of character.
