20 years after the first production of the Murgo Etna comes this new Etna Bianco, produced with through much innovation. Partial ageing in oak helps to preserve the aromatic characteristics of this wine.
Dramatically situated at 500 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Etna, Cantine Murgo enjoys both incredible views and a very different climate to the typical Sicilian experience of unrelenting heat.
Altitude adds cool night-time temperatures to sun-soaked Sicilian days, lending wonderful freshness and aromatic complexity to Cantine…
Straw yellow colour with delicate green reflections. On the nose, notes of green fruit with a certain delicacy and complexity. On the palate, fresh, full and harmonious with great intensity.
Produced from Carricante and Catarratto; grape varieties planted primarily in Sicily, Italy.
Careful selection of grapes from the best batches of the San Michele vineyards brings a lovely balance.
Try this wine alongside a traditional lamb Spezzatino with saffron and mint. Delicious!
Can drink now or has ageing potential for 5 years.
Le Cantine Murgo grow the grapes for this thrilling red on the volcanic soils surrounding Mount Etna in Sicily. Beautifully fragrant with aromas of wild strawberry, it is simply brilliant value.
Nerello Mascalese bursting with red cherry and strawberry, followed by subtle herb character and a distinctive minerality. Bright, refreshing and balanced - could even be served slightly chilled.
Grown on the slopes of Mount Etna, the 500m altitude and volcanic soils produce a wonderfully light, fresh style of rosé, which transcends Sicily's Mediterranean climate.
