The 2016 Tronquoy-Lalande from this estate, which dates back to the 18th century, has turned out beautifully. Known for having one of the finest terroir in the Bordeaux region, this dark, supple and mysterious 2016 is quite brooding in this vintage.

Tronquoy Lalande, Saint-Estèphe 2016
  • Dense colour, this lightly oaked nose is very expressive and presents good aromatic intensity. The aromas of black fruit and Morello cherry combine with spices and more toasty, bready notes of vanilla and coffee. The attack is clean, powerful and fresh. Medium-full bodied. The aromatic finish is well balanced.

  • The 2016 Tronquoy-Lalande is a blend of 58% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc, matured in 30% new oak. The terroir stretches seamlessly over 30 hectares in the heart of the famous Saint-Estèphe appellation. The gravel ensures good drainage, while the clay retains water at depth which the vines can tap into as necessary.
  • Château Tronquoy-Lalande, situated in the heart of Saint-Estephe, is one of the oldest wines in the appellation. In 2006 the construction of a vast barrel hall and a new vat house equipped with a vertical press and 22  temperature-controlled stainless steel vats allowed for a new era of modernisation.
  • Pairs brilliantly with grilled and roast lamb with garlic and rosemary, roast beef or veal.
  • Can age for up for 20 years.
