A masterpiece from cult producer Domaine Trevallon, the Alpilles Rouge stands out for its remarkable two-year ageing in foudres and barrels, deepening its complexity and character. Grown in the distinctive limestone and clay soils of Provence's North Alpilles, this wine is a seamless blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Syrah, embodying the essence of its ancient terroir. Crafted through natural winemaking processes without de-stemming, yeast additions, or sulphur, it showcases the purity of its origins. The wine presents an intense carmine red colour, with a nose rich in ripe fruits, white pepper, and liquorice spice, signature to Trévallon. The palate is smooth, leading to a long finish with refined, high-quality tannins, indicating an impressive ageing potential of over 20 years. Perfectly paired with robust dishes like duck with cranberries or Provence-herbed leg of lamb.
