Fruity White Wines

Fruity white wines focus on the primary fruit characteristics of the grape, offering a wine that is bright, fresh, and bursting with ripe fruit character. Usually it’s best to drink fruity white wines while they’re still young, as all of that youthful fruitiness will be emphasised, before the ageing process fades the brightness of the fruit and starts to bring forward more earthy, savoury notes.

Fruity whites can be light and juicy, such as wines made from Pinot Blanc or Sauvignon Blanc, usually grown in cooler regions such as Burgundy, Germany and New Zealand, yet they can also be more medium to full-bodied whites, such as Chardonnay from California, Grenache Blanc from France.
