This Sauvignon Blanc from one of California's most exciting producers is sourced from the rural Santa Cruz Mountains south of San Francisco. It is practically beaming with fresh citrus fruit, supported by a saline finish. 

91/100 - The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc Ascona Vineyard beams from the glass with passion fruit, beeswax, tarragon and nectarine aromas. It is extraordinarily bright and citrus-driven on the palate with a mouthwatering, stony finish. Straightforward and delicious, the vivacity of the palate should be capitalized on, although a few years in the cellar could bring out complexity. - Matthew Luczy, Wine Advocate

Ascona Vineyard is located on a ridgetop high up in the Santa Cruz Mountains at 2,500 feet, overlooking the Big Basin watershed. The sloping southwest-facing hillside is 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean, with abundant sunshine during the day, and consistent overnight fog and cool ocean breezes. The soils are weathered marine sedimentary sandstone, shale and siltstone. The small 4.5 acre vineyard was planted in 2000 on the site of an old Christmas tree farm, and has been meticulously farmed by Ken and Abbey Swegles since 2016.
