92/100 - Pure cassis, chili chocolate and a hint of cigar box and dark olives. A fruit-forward and medium-bodied Margaux on the palate that shows excellent finesse with tight yet silky tannins and juicy berry fruit. Effortlessly drinkable at this early stage. Enjoy now or hold.
James Suckling
93/100 - This second wine is named after the founding date of this estate. It is a smoothly textured wine, almost mature. With its fine black currant flavors and bright touches of acidity, it shows a juicy character that will allow it to age further. Drink from 2024.
Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast
It shows a rich bouquet, with floral, blackberry, dark chocolate, bitter orange and liquorice notes.
The palate is full, round and creamy. Flavours of small black fruit abound and accompany the mocha finish.
The history of Château Marquis de Terme began in 1762, when Mademoiselle Ledoulx d'Emplet brought the estate as a dowry to François de Peguilhan, the Marquis of Terme. The property has belonged to the Sénéclauze family since 1935. The 1762 cuvée is the expression of this timelessness. It is thought to be the representation of the personality and the typicality of our terroir. The 26 plots of the vineyard are included in the composition of the cuvée.
