Mâcon-Vergissons' 'Les Rochers' is a steep, limestone-infused site that produces a superb and great-value wine. This Mâcon-Vergisson is all about finesse, with lovely aromatic purity.
Aromas of stone fruits, citrus and subtle oak spice. Crisp, dry and incredibly refreshing, with a long, intense finish of saline minerals. Crisp, clean and precise, it stands out for its explosion of fruit over a strong mineral base.
Produced from 100% Chardonnay, Les Rochers is made of a blend from two terroirs. The first, known as “Sur La Roche”, is mainly limestone, in the form of surface scree over a subsoil of clay shale. Situated on a plateau 300 meters above sea level, the late ripening results in wines with a good sugar/acidity balance. The second plot, known as “En Bille Folland”, is on soil composed of clay from the Triassic. With much less limestone influence, it produces supple wines with breadth.
Combines the succulence of a Côte-d'Or white, with the minerality of a top Chablis.
Drink up to 5 years after release.
