This alluring Chardonnay comes from Sandhi, a Sta. Rita Hills project from one of California's most exciting duos, Sashi Moorman and Rajat Parr. Sourced entirely from the dynamic Patterson vineyard, these maestros delight with another electrifying Chardonnay.
The source for this wine is the Patterson Vineyard, a younger vineyard located west of Buellton. It has a steep exposure at significant elevation and a north-facing aspect. It is a very cool-climate site, though high levels of sunlight and protection from winds make it ideal for grape growing.
This Chardonnay is notable terse on the nose but voluble on the palate. Zippy green tree fruits fill a taut, chalk-and-jasmine-scented frame. The palate opens up with a bit of time, distinguished by a persistent, salty minerality and rapier acidity. Notes of lemon and fresh cream sing before a lingering and well-textured finish.
