Made from vineyard fruit of the Domaine de la Côte's estate, this Pinot delivers on every level, and takes you way beyond what one would reasonably expect from an appellation wine. With notes of black cherry, lavender and layered spice, on the palate savoury earthiness develops, while a subtle green stalk coarseness cuts pleasantly through the fruit, adding beautiful texture and completing a complex and elegant wine.
91/100 - Just bottled, the 2021 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills) shows all the energy and nuance the vintage has to offer. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petal, chalk, mint and white pepper abound. This is tremendous appellation-level Pinot and a huge overachiever that could very well turn out to be even better than this note suggests.- Antonio Galloni, Vinous
96/100 - The 2021 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills has a medium ruby color and pretty scents of cinnamon stick, aniseed, iron, underbrush and charcuterie with a core of red cherries and cranberries. Medium-bodied yet very concentrated, it has a powdery frame, sparks of refreshing acidity and a very long, graphite-driven finish.
