This alluring Chardonnay comes from Sandhi, a Sta. Rita Hills project from one of California's most exciting duos, Sashi Moorman and Rajat Parr. Sourced entirely from the dynamic Rinconada vineyard, these maestros delight with another electrifying Chardonnay.
Located in the heartland of the Sta. Rita Hills and mere feet from the iconic Sanford & Benedict vineyard, Rinconada is a richer site. Its soils are marked by moisture-retaining clay, and the vines are planted significantly denser. The wines from this site are dense and rich, while still being acid-driven and refreshing.

Yellow in color, the wine smells like it: Golden Delicious apple, candied ginger and pineapple make this bottling feel the most Californian of the bunch. Indeed, it offers an approachable and sunny Chardonnay, but not without an undercurrent of peach skin, spiced almond and slight cheesiness from lees contact in oak barrels, which only bolster the wine’s mouthfeel and complexity.

This is a crowd favourite with a spirit of its own.

Winery History
In his recent review of the Sandhi wines, Antonio Galloni said: ‘It is quite conceivable that within a few years the Sandhi Chardonnays and Pinots could become reference point, benchmark wines for Santa Barbara, and California, for that matter’. This sort of praise will come as no surprise to those that are familiar with the project - a collaboration... Read More >>
